Your Dad Wishes He Had These Tesla Features

Let's face it: regular cars just don't have the same "wow" factor that they used to. Sure, cars have been getting prettier and more luxurious for decades, but something is missing: Tesla features!

Sure, Tesla vehicles are known for their luxury, but did you know that they also have the best features? This American car manufacturer is quickly becoming one of the most popular cars to own.

Tesla vehicles have cutting-edge technology that was once reserved for sci-fi movies. The company has only been around since 2003, and it's already revolutionizing how we view cars.

Tesla models don’t just stop at the gorgeous exterior or cool dashboard screens that Apple fans crave; it takes things a step further with features that your Dad has only dreamed of having in his car.

If you're tired of watching other people fawn over Teslas while you drive your dad’s boring old minivan, check out these twenty Tesla features your Dad wishes he had in his car.

20 Amazing Tesla Features

1) The Touchscreen

Okay, so this one is a no-brainer. With the touchscreen taking over smartphones and tablets, it only makes sense that it would make its way into cars. Teslas have been incorporating touchscreens for years, and other automakers could learn something from how sleek Tesla's interface looks.

The 17" touchscreen boasts a wide range of features that give drivers great control over their vehicles. It can turn on the heat or air conditioning, change music, and even monitor the car's battery. The touchscreen isn't just sleek, but its features are incredibly useful. We hope that automakers worldwide take some notes before it's too late.

2) Autopilot

The Tesla Autopilot is a feature that gives cars semi-autonomous driving capabilities. This is made possible through a combination of sensors, cameras, and radar conveniently located in the front and rear bumpers that provide a 360-degree view of the vehicle.

These features allow Tesla vehicles to take over some driving responsibilities while still allowing drivers to control their vehicles at all times.

For example, if you are following another vehicle too closely or are about to miss your exit on the highway, Autopilot will alert the driver and make it easy for them to change lanes. Autopilot can also assist with parking and 'summon' parking, where the car can drive into space to wait and then return to you.

Autopilot can help change lanes and parking, making long road trips less tedious!

3) Supercharging Network

The lack of charging stations is often considered the #1 reason people don't feel safe buying all-electric vehicles. Luckily, Tesla continues to add electric vehicle charging stations worldwide.

This means you can now drive from New York to Los Angeles using only Tesla Supercharging Stations—a feat considered impossible only a few years ago.

4) Over-the-air Updates

Like a cellphone, a Tesla vehicle always updates its software to increase performance and fix bugs. Tesla can provide over-the-air updates because the software runs on the car instead of on a desktop computer.

This feature allows Tesla to constantly improve their vehicles and fix problems that would be expensive or inconvenient for car owners to bring into the dealership.

5) Sentry Mode

Sentry mode uses the car's external cameras to detect potential threats and make a recording. It can also alert you when a threat is detected.

This feature could be a life-saver if someone tries to break into your car while it's parked in front of your house at night or elsewhere.

6) Dog Mode

In Dog Mode,  you can adjust the climate control settings to keep your pup at the right temperature. This is great news for pet owners who enjoy bringing their furry friends wherever they go.

7) Keycard Access

At some point, your Tesla will unlock as you approach it. This is because the car uses a keycard that's unique to you to access the vehicle. It can be kept tucked away to work, or you can touch it to the side door. The Tesla app also allows you to unlock the car from your smartphone.

8) Plaid Mode

A feature available on the Model S, Plaid mode, refers to the extra fast acceleration. The car can go from 0-60 mph in under two seconds!

9) Karaoke Mode

This is the most ridiculous and fun feature. With this mode, you can stream songs onto your car's speakers and sing along! Your car will play music from your Spotify account and display lyrics on the instrument panel.

10) Bioweapon Defense Mode

This mode protects drivers and passengers in Model S and X by activating a HEPA filtration system. It creates a safe breathing space by continuously filtering outside air and actively expelling air from the car's cabin.

11) The Frunk

A portmanteau of "front" and "trunk," the frunk is the extra storage space at the front of the vehicle. You can fit so many things in there with so much room for storage.

12) Netflix n’ Park

While parked, drivers can watch Netflix or streaming services via the 17" touchscreen. You can also access your home media server or just browse YouTube. Movie night in the car has never been easier.

13) Easter Eggs

Hidden features in the car's software? This has "dad" written all over it. In addition to information about charging speeds and other resources, owners can access a sketch pad program, play Snake, and hear Rick from Rick and Morty's voice in sentry mode.

14)  Web Browser

While parked, drivers or passengers can check their email or browse the internet via the web browser on the touchscreen. Find where to get a quick bite or that next landmark you've meant to visit.

15) Air Suspension

In air suspension mode, the car can adjust the ride height to negotiate speed bumps or steep driveways. This setting can be useful during long trips where the road condition varies.

16) Tesla Smart Summon

This special feature enables the car to leave the parking space and pull up to the driver or passenger. Be careful with this feature, though, as it hasn't fully been perfected. The driver or passenger must be present to monitor the vehicle.

17) Block Explicit Lyrics

This one is useful for Dads with kids. Using Tesla's music app, you can censor explicit lyrics, so you won't have to worry about your children singing along with lyrics they shouldn't be listening to.

18) The Tesla App

Another unique feature of Teslas is the smartphone app. This allows you to control all aspects of the car, including the air temperature. You can also check on charging levels and trip stats. It also tells you how many miles left the car can drive before it needs to be charged up again.

19) Advanced Parking Sensors

Parallel parking is easy in a Tesla. You don't even have to use the mirrors on the car. Its sensors will alert you if there's someone behind you and let you know how many feet are left before it hits something. The Tesla shows you the exact location of nearby objects, so you'll never damage your ride or someone else's.

20) Fart Mode

Lastly, perhaps the most unique part of the Tesla (at least for some of us) is the fart mode. Formally known as the "Emissions Test Mode,"  this feature can transform the turn signal sounds into fart noises. The driver can also pick where the fart noise comes from, from near the driver or one of the passengers.

It's Time For Your Dad to Get a Tesla

By now, you probably think that your dad would love a Tesla. If this is the case, make sure to let him know about all of its features. The Tesla may be a little pricey, but any Dad would love to have a Tesla in their garage. It would be the perfect Dad car!

Tesla has won us with its fun features and innovative approach to car manufacturing. Where else could you find a car that comes equipped with fart mode!?

While it is certainly a unique addition to an already lovely-looking vehicle, time will tell if it becomes as popular as other more conventional vehicle add-ons such as cup holders.

Features aside, the Tesla is one of the safest cars out there and will continue to be as it gets updated. With its speed and power, you can feel confident that your dad's safe in traffic or wherever he takes his new ride.

Also, don't forget to show off your new knowledge by using these great talking points at your next holiday dinner with the family. Now get out there and spread the news!
